Does this sound familiar?
→ You’re tired of repeating the same fights and feeling stuck in old patterns that never resolve. Past hurts keep resurfacing and conversations spiral into blame instead of connection.
→ You feel anxious or on edge in the relationship, as if you’re waiting for the other shoe to drop. You may also feel numb, shut down, or chronically disappointed because your partner’s responses trigger old wounds.
→ It’s hard to trust your partner fully, even when they try to be present. You might react strongly to small triggers, withdraw when you need closeness, or become overly controlling to prevent perceived abandonment.
→ How you feel gets tangled with memories and expectations from previous relationships or childhood, so present disagreements feel bigger and more dangerous than they actually are. You may struggle to tell the difference between past pain and what’s happening now.
→ It is too exhausting to carry the emotional baggage alone. Unresolved attachment wounds and trauma bleed into intimacy, sex, and everyday life now that you are empty nesters, making safety, enjoyment, and repair feel out of reach.

Virtual Therapy Located Throughout Florida and Virginia
Hi, I’m Nicole. I help individuals and couples heal old emotional wounds so they can feel safer, closer, and more connected in their relationships. A lot of my work focuses on attachment—how your early experiences shape the way you love, argue, protect yourself, and show up with the people who matter most.
It’s important to understand what’s really happening underneath your recurring arguments, so you can communicate more effectively, rebuild trust, and feel emotionally safe. We’ll work on moving from feeling stuck, distant, and like “roommates” back to feeling like partners on the same team.
Together, we’ll make sense of your patterns and triggers, work through painful experiences that still affect you, and build tools for managing emotions, setting boundaries, and creating healthier, more secure relationships.
Services
Has past hurt built into a lot of resentment in your relationship? Do you feel lonely even though you have your partner by your side? We will work together to learn the relationship skills needed to heal together and rebuild a wonderful connection in the next stage of life.
Has trauma from your past negatively impacted your relationship in the present? If so, know you are not alone. EMDR therapy works with the memories, beliefs, and body sensations that get activated when triggered so you can feel less overwhelming and more in control of your reactions.
Do you feel emotionally numb, exhausted, or hopeless and lack the motivation and energy to push past this diffiuclt time? I can help you uncover what’s really weighing you down and will provide practical tools to work through the lows of depression so you can reconnect to yourself and others with meaning, joy, and self-compassion.
Are you constantly on edge, overwhelmed by worry, or stuck in cycles of “what if” thinking? I can help you understand what’s driving your anxiety and teach practical tools to calm your body, quiet your mind, and navigate fears with more steadiness and self-compassion so you can feel more grounded and at ease in your everyday life.

I am currently considered to be an out of network mental health provider.
I am happy to provide superbills for insurance reimbursement. Many of my clients find this approach allows them more flexibility and choice in their care. Please check with your insurance about your out of network mental health benefits - many of my clients are able to get reimbursement from their insurance.
Benefits to working with an “out of network” therapist:
No limitations on sessions. We can meet for as long as you need without having to worry if insurance will cut us off, or end coverage, which could abruptly end your care.
Allows me to offer you more flexible, personalized, and intentional care.
Helps me keep your information completely confidential, without needing to share diagnosis or notes with insurance companies.
Allows us to avoid surprise billing issues, which can lead to lapses in treatment.
Lets us focus on what’s best for you, not what insurance says is best for you!

The frequency of sessions will change over the course of therapy. I meet with clients once a week for a 50-minute session during the beginning stages of therapy. As therapy progresses and treatment plan goals are achieved, therapy frequency will go to bi-weekly sessions and then monthly sessions before transitioning out of therapy.
This frequency helps to ensure that progress can be maintained without relapse.
